Why Fence Post Metal Gauges Matter

When it comes to building a fence that lasts, the thickness of the metal used in your fence posts plays a huge role. This thickness is measured in gauges—and the lower the gauge, the thicker and stronger the metal.

At King Of Kings Fence, we use 13-gauge steel posts and below, which means you’re getting durable, heavy-duty materials built to withstand the test of time, weather, and pressure. Thinner posts (higher gauges like 16 or 17) may save a little on cost upfront, but they often bend, rust, or fail much sooner—leading to costly repairs or replacements.

We don’t cut corners when it comes to quality. If you’re investing in a new fence, make sure the posts holding it up are built to last.
